The high speed initiative has $180-million in provincial and federal funding to bring broadband internet to southern Ontario and more than 3.5-million people living here.
TekSavvy will begin construction shortly with an eye to have the section of network finished by the summer.
The internet provider will also contribute 5% of the revenue from the section of the network to the development of the larger SWIFT project.
A detailed construction schedule is set to be released in the coming weeks.
