Area residents are being reminded of the unpredictable and changeable nature of local waterways.
Emergency crews responded to the banks of the Thames River off Thames Street in Chatham just before 8:30 Thursday night with reports of a person in the water.
With the help of a fire truck and crews in a boat, the person was pulled to shore and taken to hospital by EMS.
“I would like to thank our partnering emergency responders, CK Police and CK EMS,” says Chief Chris Case. “Quick and effective actions by all resulted in a life being saved.”
