Thamesville will become home to Chatham-Kent’s newest community garden.
Chatham-Kent Public Health has selected Ferguson Park in Thamesville as the location of the new garden, which is set to launch for the 2026 planting season.
The site was selected following a community-wide consultation process led by CK Public Health that included a public survey to gauge local interest in community gardening initiatives.
According to CK’s Food Policy Council, community gardens enhance access to fresh, locally grown food while creating inclusive spaces for residents.
Those interested in securing a plot in the Ferguson Park community garden are encouraged to contact the CK Food Policy Council Coordinator at FoodPolicyCouncil@chatham-kent.ca.
