After years of trying to sell off the big parcel of land formerly owned by Navistar in Chatham, the deal is done.
Mayor Darrin Canniff made the announcement on his Facebook page Tuesday afternoon.
“For a number of years, the previous site of Navistar on Richmond Street in Chatham has been vacant. I am thrilled to announce that today that the property was officially purchased by local business people.”
Mayor Canniff says the property is now under “local ownership” and plans for development will be shared by the new owners in the coming weeks.
