A local man is facing charges after allegedly threatening staff at a Chatham “health facility.”
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to the health facility on Grand Avenue West at around 1:20 p.m. on Thursday for a threats complaint. Police have not identified the facility where the incident occurred.
Authorities said a man had entered the main lobby and asked to speak to staff before allegedly making threatening remarks to two employees who were not present at the time.
The man was also prohibited from attending the building under his probation conditions, except for a pre-scheduled appointment or a medical emergency.
The accused was located and arrested when officers arrived. The 52-year-old Chatham man is now charged with two counts of uttering threats and failing to comply with a probation order.
He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
