A threat against WDSS has prompted board officials to close the school on Friday.
A media release was issued late Thursday night, saying that on the advice of Chatham-Kent Police, the high school will be closed to students on March 1st.
Officials say the move was prompted by a note found at the end of the day yesterday, although details about what was in the note have not been released.
“Student and staff safety are a top priority for the LKDSB and we follow the direction of local police regarding matters of school safety,” says Director Jim Costello.
We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
