Three More Local Lives Lost to COVID-19

Chatham-Kent has now surpassed 50 residents lost to COVID-19.

Public Health is reporting three more local residents have succumbed to the virus.  Two people passed away earlier this week and the third happened last week but has just been confirmed as being caused by COVID-19. The three latest lives lost include a man in his 60s and two women in their 90s.

In all, 52 Chatham-Kent residents have died because of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

Five outbreaks remain active across the municipality, two group homes and three long term care facilities.

There are now 17 COVID patients at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, up one from Thursday’s report.

10 of those, including the most recent admission, are being treated primarily for the virus, while the remainder are being treated for other ailments and have tested positive for COVID.

There are four COVID patients in the ICU and 4 in the hospital’s progressive care unit.
