One Chatham-Kent student and two from Lambton County have been awarded scholarships as they pursue education in environmental conservation.
The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) recently awarded its 2024 scholarships to three students who have demonstrated high academic standing and involvement in environmental initiatives.
Lily Demaiter from Lambton-Kent Composite School in Dresden was awarded the 2024 A.W. Campbell Memorial Scholarship. She will be attending the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus this fall, pursuing a degree in Agriculture.
Gracie Hobbs, a student at Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational School in Petrolia, was awarded the Tony Stranak Conservation Scholarship. She will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of New Brunswick.
Makenna Zavitz from Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School in Sarnia received the Mary Jo Arnold Conservation Scholarship. She will be studying Zoology at the University of Guelph.
The scholarships are made possible through trust funds established by the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation and its donors.
In total, $2,000 has been awarded across the St. Clair Region this year.
