Allegedly throwing rocks at a local resident has led to charges for a Chatham man.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to the incident on King Street East in Chatham at around 5 p.m. on August 28 after the victim was struck in the legs and arms by rocks that were thrown from a neighbouring property.

The victim was able to record a video of the incident, which enabled police to identify a suspect. The man was located on Park Avenue West shortly before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and during an arrest, he resisted officers.

As a result, a 19-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault with a weapon and resisting arrest. He was held for a bail hearing.
