An investigation into a decade-old allegation of the sexual assault of a child has led to charges for a Tilbury man.
The LaSalle Police Service launched its investigation this past May after receiving information about alleged offences between 2014 and 2017 in LaSalle, Windsor, and Amherstburg.
Yesterday, with help from the provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad, a 57-year-old Tilbury man was arrested, charged with nine counts of sexual assault, eight counts of sexual interference, and one count of invitation to sexual touching.
The accused has been released from custody pending a future court date. His name is not being released in order to protect the identity and privacy of the victim.
