
Two Chatham residents have been charged following a theft from a construction trailer.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the locked construction trailer on Lacroix Street in Chatham was broken into sometime between 5 p.m. on April 21 and 2 p.m. on April 22.
Around $4,000 worth of Dewalt tools were stolen from the scene.
Following an investigation, officers with the Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at an Alexandra Avenue home on Wednesday, just after 2 p.m. Several of the stolen tools were located, and two people were arrested.
A 47-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both from Chatham, have each been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000. They were later released with conditions and a future court date.
