Municipal officials are looking to find local businesses interested in acting as a host site for an e-bike rental program.
The issue was raised at a recent council meeting, with the proposed program to be run through a third party.
Now, Chatham-Kent’s tourism department is trying to identify potential partners through an online survey.
Officials say there are a number of benefits to having an e-bike rental program, including attracting more cycling tourists to Chatham-Kent, enhancing cycling culture in the municipality, and supporting future bike infrastructure development.
The issue is expected to come back before council on July 11th with a report including recommendations for operational options and any associated municipal cost implications.
