A toy gun has caused some trouble for a pair of local residents.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers received a report of a man holding what appeared to be a gun while driving on St. Clair Road in Wallaceburg at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police located the vehicle near Country View Line and conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
Both occupants, a 25-year-old Wallaceburg man and an 18-year-old Chatham-Kent man, complied with the officers’ demands and were taken into custody.
The accused were held in custody until officers confirmed the firearm that was seen was actually a toy gun. The complainant later confirmed the occupants were not pointing the toy gun at anyone. Both individuals were released unconditionally.
