The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent is looking to expand, and looking to the municipality for some help to do it.
The organization is asking for $1.5-million from council to help build a new 50-thousand square foot facility at a new location.
The Ministry of Children and Youth Services has committed to paying for the building, with an estimated price of $22-million.
The treatment centre is on the hook to raise $6-million for furniture, equipment and sustainability funds.
Upon completion and opening of the new facility in 2020 the current building would revert to the ownership of Chatham-Kent.
