Hospital patients in Wallaceburg are being given a helping hand and a more comfortable place to rest.
Officials were on hand at the Wallaceburg site yesterday afternoon as the Florence Nightingale Home Foundation presented a cheque for $4000.
VP and Chief Nursing Executive Lisa Northcott says the money will be used for three treatment recliners.
“We use them for patients in our ambulatory care area that might be receiving treatment that’s several hours long, so they’re in a comfortable chair while receiving that treatment,” Northcott says. “And then we use them in our inpatient and emergency room for patients that just aren’t comfortable lying flat or in a bed, it helps us provide quality care.”
Since 2002, the Florence Nightingale Home Foundation has given more than $12,000 to the local hospitals.
