The Ontario Trucking Association has released a statement, assuring the public that its commitment to road safety is at an all-time high.

Just last week the OPP laid charges in connection to three separate crashes in Ontario involving transports that claimed six lives over the summer, including one such collision in Chatham-Kent.

Commissioner Vince Hawkes announced that truckers were being put “on notice” that authorities would pursuit every avenue to hold at-fault drivers accountable.

The Trucking Association says it’s working with the OPP and Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation to develop improved road safety policy strategies through technology, education, improved roadway design, and strategic enforcement.
