The Chatham-Kent Police Service said its Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a Webb Street residence on Thursday at around 4 p.m.
During a search of the home, officers seized 2.487 kilograms of fentanyl, seven grams of cocaine, a loaded 9mm Sig Sauer handgun, digital scales, cell phones, and a large quantity of cash. The total street value of the drugs is estimated at over $498,000.
A 58-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both from Chatham, were arrested at the scene. They have both been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm while knowing it’s unauthorized, careless storage of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm.
