A local pair won’t be getting behind the wheel anytime soon following a traffic stop in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers on patrol spotted two vehicles speeding through a parking lot on Grand Avenue West just after 4 a.m. on Sunday, and began to follow them as they left the area.

The vehicles were seen travelling well over the speed limit in a school zone and were stopped by police.

As a result, a 39-year-old Wallaceburg woman and a 33-year-old Ridgetown man have been charged with stunt driving. Both were also issued a 14-day vehicle impoundment.
