A pair of local communities are celebrating major milestones this weekend.
2025 marks the 150th anniversaries for both Ridgetown and Wallaceburg.
Numerous celebrations are planned over the next few days, starting with a parade in Ridgetown this evening. The procession, organized by the East Kent Celebrates Committee, begins on West Street between Main Street West and the community’s northern limits, making its way down to Ridgetown District High school.
Other events in Ridgetown this weekend include a Children’s Festival in Kiwanis Park, historic walking tours, and an outdoor concert.
Wallaceburg will be marking its sesquicentennial with wagon runs, the unveiling of a historic plaque at the museum, and the annual Baldoon Days event on the south side of the Sydenham.
