A pair of men are facing charges after an incident in Wallaceburg.

Shortly after 1:30 Friday afternoon, officers were called to a Water Street address for a disturbance. Authorities say as officers were trying to help, the man tried to barricade himself inside a room.

However, while police were trying to arrest the man, another man allegedly tried to intervene and tried to prevent officers from taking the initial suspect into custody.

Authorities say the second man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for mischief. The 32-year-old was also arrested and charged with obstructing police.

The first man, a 35-year-old, was taken to the Wallaceburg site of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for treatment and later released with a future court date on an assault charge.
