Two New Outbreaks in CK, Including Fairfield Park

A big jump in Chatham-Kent’s new COVID cases, but a large number of recoveries is balancing things out.

The Public Health Unit is reporting 63 new infections since the last update on Friday. Add in 55 recoveries and the number of active cases has only gone up by seven to 128.

One patient has been released from hospital, leaving three COVID-positive CK residents at the Health Alliance.

Public Health is also investigating a new outbreak at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg with one positive case at the long term care facility. There’s also a new workplace outbreak, although the location hasn’t been identified.

Province-wide, there have been 3338 new cases and 39 additional deaths reported by the Ministry of Health.

Lambton County is reporting another 85 new infections today with 17 active outbreaks.

The public health unit in Windsor-Essex is reporting 142 new infections today, bringing the total number of active cases in that region to 2728.
