For the first time, the agency has selected a local company – Advanced Realty Solutions – for its campaign chair.
Spokesperson Tricia Weese says it seemed like a natural fit.
“I’ve seen the demographics of the community change, we’re experiencing an influx of people moving here from out of town which has been great for growth and the economy but it’s making entering the world of home ownership more difficult for first time home buyers so for us it’s getting involved and knowing what sorts of supports are available through places like the United Way to be able to help these people.”
The United Way will officially kick off the 2019 campaign on Friday with an event at The Kent in Chatham, including announcing this year’s fundraising goal.
Last year, the agency raised over $1.56 million dollars to support people in need in our community.
