With a final push, the United Way of Sarnia Lambton is calling their annual campaign a success.
The organization set this year’s target at $2-million, and managed to raise just a hair more than that.
“With what has been donated to date, and with the dollars that are anticipated to come in over the next two weeks, we are expected to finish off the year at $2,010,000,” said Executive Director Dave Brown. “I can’t pinpoint one area that pushed us to our goal; it was truly a combined effort of the industrial and construction sectors, local businesses and individual donors. In fact, many first time donors stepped up for the cause in December helping the thermometer peak.”
The organization funds 35 local programs and services provided by 19 agencies in Sarnia-Lambton.
