It’s not yet known how many animals died in a late night barn fire near Eberts.
Four local stations responded to the fire at the Brooks Line animal rescue centre just before midnight Wednesday night.
There were no personal injuries.
Early reports indicated a pig had died in the fire, but that animal is now said to have been treated by a veterinarian for burns and will recover.
Local firefighters from Station #4 Dover, Station #5 Tupperville, Station #6 Dresden and Station #7 Chatham South helped save many animals from the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. Damage is estimated at $400,000.
