Up to 45 Active COVID Cases in CK

Another increase in Chatham-Kent’s COVID stats as we head into the weekend.

Public Health is reporting six new cases and three recoveries, raising the active caseload to 45. There are now four cases linked to the congregate living outbreak with Community Living.

Eight COVID patients being treated at the Health Alliance, two of whom are in the ICU. The average age of COVID patients in hospital is 52, none of whom are fully vaccinated.

There are nine CKHA staff off work right now following exposure to the virus.

Meantime, the public health vaccination team has a busy week ahead.

Mobile clinics are being held at the Ridgetown Farmers’ Market on Saturday from 8am until noon, and then shifting to Rondeau Provincial Park from 1-3pm.

A pop-up clinic is being held on the patio in front of the Downtown Chatham Centre Tuesday, the Chatham campus of the Health Alliance on Wednesday, and KSR International in Ridgetown on Thursday.

All clinics are for those 12 and older looking to get either their first or second doses.

Those with concerns about the vaccine are also welcome to ask any questions they may have.
