Police are investigating after multiple stolen vehicles were found submerged in the Thames River north of Tilbury.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to an area along the river near Poppe Road and Buchanan Line early Wednesday afternoon, after receiving information about property that had been located in the water.
Over a two-day period, and with help from the Ontario Provincial Police Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, police recovered and identified three vehicles that had previously been reported stolen.
An investigation into the matter remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Andrew Brown at andrewbr@chatham-kent.ca.
