Mirroring a trend province-wide, Chatham-Kent is experiencing a slight uptick in cases of COVID-19.
Officials with CK Public Health have released their weekly update, including one more local death caused by the virus. That brings to 79 the total number of Chatham-Kent residents who’ve lost their lives to COVID.
45 high-risk cases of the virus were identified between June 19th and the 25th, raising the seven-day average to 6 new cases a day, up from 2 a week ago.
Public Health officials are also keeping tabs on a new outbreak at Tilbury Manor Nursing Home with 22 linked cases identified since June 21st.
Chatham-Kent’s positivity rate now sits at 6.8%, compared to 2.5% a week ago. The provincial rate is 8.5%.
