Vaccines Coming to Pharmacies, Doctor’s Offices

Some Ontario residents will soon be able to walk into their local pharmacy and roll up their sleeve to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Premier Doug Ford announced Wednesday over 300 pharmacies in Windsor-Essex, Toronto and the Kingston area will start taking appointments for residents 60-64. It will be the AstraZeneca version requiring 2 doses.

“It appears that our vaccine supply is continuing to improve,” Ford says. “To get these vaccines administered as quickly as possible, more members of Team Ontario are stepping up.”

Selected Shoppers Drug Marts, Rexall, Costco and Loblaws pharmacies will be handling the vaccinations. Ford says some other regions will get another opportunity for the shot

“In addition, primary care professionals will be offering vaccinations in primary care centres and community locations such as physician offices this weekend.”

The one millionth Ontario resident was vaccinated Wednesday.
