Chatham-Kent Police didn’t have far to go to arrest an accused vandal.

Shortly after 8 o’clock Monday night, officers responded to an incident involving property damage at police headquarters.

A 52-year-old man, who was already under a probation order banning him from the Third Street building except in the event of an emergency or during an arrest, is said to have defaced a sign inside the front lobby.

The accused has now been charged with failing to comply with a probation order and mischief under $5000.
