Students and staff at Georges P Vanier in Chatham are sharing the gift of giving this holiday season.
The school held a fundraiser recently, with over $1000 going to both the Chatham Goodfellows and the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre.
Grade 8 students collected donations for one week, raising a total of $2500 to be divided between the two charities.
Money raised for the Goodfellows helps with toy and food hampers for the No Child Without a Christmas campaign.
The school community has also ‘adopted’ three families through the Women’s Centre with donations used to buy gifts for each family to make their holidays a little brighter.
