Vegetable Growers Helping Local Students

A number of local students are getting a leg up on their education, thanks to the Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers.

At its industry conference held in London last week, four post-secondary students were awarded a total of $9000 in grants.

Among the winners are Ryan KcKerral and Sarah Furlan, both of Chatham, and Wheatley’s Noah Weber, all of whom are second year students at the University of Guelph in Ridgetown.

This is the 19th year bursaries have been awarded through the conference, and to date over $187,000 has been provided to deserving students pursuing careers in agriculture and food.
