Charges have been laid after an investigation uncovered assaults that date back over five years.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Lorne Avenue address in Chatham on Monday at around 1:30 p.m., after an incident between a man and the victim escalated into an assault.
Following an investigation, authorities learned of several more incidents dating back to 2019 where the victim was assaulted and property was damaged.
A 25-year-old Chatham man turned himself in at police headquarters on Tuesday. He is now charged with three counts of mischief, three counts of assault and three counts of assault with a weapon. He was later released from custody with conditions and a future court.
