The Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce is celebrating some of the municipality’s best and brightest, although a little differently in the past.
The awards are typically handed out in April, but had to be postponed because of the pandemic.
Chamber president Gail Hundt says tonight’s Business Excellence Awards are being handed out in a virtual ceremony.
“Each one of the recipients had been informed in advance, they each had an appointment for a pre-taping of the ceremony,” Hundt says. “We call it our Looks Like Live, we created a forum that looks like it would any other year, and we presented the awards with some speeches and a gala podium and the whole shebang, the only thing that was missing was the large audience and a loud round of applause.”
The ceremony will be shown tonight at 7 o’clock on the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce Facebook Page and YourTV Chatham Facebook Page.
