Jessica Smith, Executive Director of the Chatham-Kent Hospice, says the Kids’ Circle and Supportive Care Volunteer Visiting programs are being moved.
“VON opened offices in Chatham on Stanley Ave about three years ago, and they have decided to move their bereavement programs over to their Stanley Ave offices. They had some changes to the size of their program, and previously they were offered at the Chatham-Kent Hospice space, but now they’ll be at the Stanley Ave VON offices,” says Smith.
Meantime, the VON and Hospice are working on an event next month to support families who’ve lost a child.
“The first of our programs that we are going to be offering is ‘Footsteps – Walking Through Grief‘,” explains Smith.
It will be held Sunday, May 6th starting at the Salvation Army Church on Orangewood Boulevard at 2pm.
“Participation is completely free of charge, but we do encourage pre-registration just to ensure that we have enough resources and materials on hand for everyone that comes through,” Smith says.
To register, contact Caress Lee Carpenter at the Hospice.
