The popular ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’ Struts into downtown Chatham on Saturday.
Karen Hunter is the Executive Director of the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre and says it’s certainly a highlight.
“It’s our signature event. This is our 9th year and we’re hoping to raise about $25,000 – that would be nice, but more would be great. We’re looking for some great men to come out, put on those red heels, and strut their stuff down King Street”, Hunter says.
She says this event really helps our their organization:
“It allows us to provide different things for women and children within our organization that we can’t normally provide due to government funding. The government has been great, but it only provides so much. So if we want to provide any extra support groups, services, or anything extra that we need for women and children, this is the way to do it”, Hunter explains.
Registration on Saturday starts at 11:30am with the opening ceremonies at 12:15.
