Walk Aims to Raise Awareness and Prevention of Suicide

A special walk will make its way through downtown Chatham later this month, raising awareness about those affected by suicide.

The Suicide and Prevention Awareness Walk is being organized.

Gerald Robert, whose son Joseph took his own life in 2014, says suicide seems to be a taboo subject, but he wants to offer help to anyone who needs it.

“We need to open a conversation so others like myself don’t feel alone.”

The walk will begin at 11:30 at the Wish Centre on Sunday, January 28th, making its way to the Civic Centre and back again.

Organizers say everyone is welcome to join.
