The ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’ event goes this morning in Chatham.
Walkers have until 11:30am to register at the Downtown Chatham Centre and according to organizer Tracey Lucio, all the money raised goes right back to the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre.
“We offer residential services who suffer from domestic violence,” says Lucio. “We also offer outreach programs for people who don’t live in the facility but they still need some help. So you can still come in and do some counselling through our outreach as well.”
Last year more than $25,000 was brought in to help people in the municipality.
