While the nomination period for candidates running for municipal council does not open for another few weeks, a Wallaceburg man has already announced his intentions.
Local businessman Dave Brundritt, former owner of MovieTime on McNaughton Avenue, has announced he will be running for one of two seats in Ward Five, which includes Wallaceburg and the surrounding area.
“It is my wish that I can continue to serve this community that has supported me and my family since 1996,” Brundritt said in a social media post. “As a councillor I hope to be able to give back to this community as much as it has given me.”
Prospective candidates can file nomination papers between May 1 and August 21.
Chatham-Kent residents head to the polls to select the municipality’s next mayor, council, and school board trustees on October 26.
