Police were kept busy in St. Clair Township after stopping two alleged impaired drivers from Wallaceburg on the same day.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver at around 4:25 p.m. on Thursday before locating and stopping the driver on St. Clair Parkway.
As a result, a 43-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol content over the legal limit.
Not long after at around 7:45 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Highway 40, north of Bentpath Line and arrested the driver.
That accused, a 32-year-old Wallaceburg man, is also charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol content over the legal limit, as well as failing to surrender a permit, driving with an open container of liquor, and failing to surrender insurance.
Both of the men were also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and their vehicles will be impounded for seven days.
