Wallaceburg swimmer exceeds expectations

There is a little less room in Madison Broad’s trophy case after the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships.

The 17-year-old Wallaceburg swimmer won a silver and bronze in individual backstroke events and was part of the 4 x 100 metre relay team which won silver at the event last week in Fiji.

Broad was surprised at her success, say she would have been satisfied with top ten or perhaps top twenty finishes.

Next up for the UCC student is to represent Canada at the World Youth Olympics in Argentina in October.

Broad will be attending the University of Toledo on a full-ride swimming scholarship beginning in 2019.
