A local woman is facing charges following an incident at Walmart in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent Police responded to the McNaughton Avenue store Sunday morning and say a woman allegedly damaged some hanging baskets on display and was then escorted from the building by staff.
Investigators say the suspect returned to the store and is accused of trying to hide items from the makeup department in her bag.
When the woman was asked to leave the store for the second time, she allegedly threatened an employee, grabbed a sign holder and hit the other woman.
Officers found the accused a short distance away. The woman is also accused of yelling obscenities at police and spitting in the backseat of the cruiser.
The 30-year-old is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and two counts of mischief under $5000.
She was released with a date in court next month.
