After all the anticipation, WAMBO 23 is now history and what a weekend it was.

Friday evening has tremendous weather for the Terry Glover Car Cruise, and all-day Saturday was bright and sunny as thousands of people walked the streets of Wallaceburg at the countless events and activities taking place.

Yesterday was a bit of a different story, as rain canceled the Lawn Mower races that were set to take place, but the non-denominational church service was still held.

Organizer Chip Gordon, said it was the “biggest yet.

“All the food vendors had line-ups, it was all great to see. It was a great weekend,” he said.

Gordon added it’s a collective effort to make WAMBO what it is, as the 200 plus volunteers all chipped in many hours to make the effort run smoothly.

Chatham-Kent Police said the WAMBO festivities were very attended, but from a police perspective it was very quiet, with no major incidents. Walking away with a big prize from the weekend was Shadd Smith, who won over $16,000 from the Knights of Columbus 50/50 draw.
