After having to scrap the traditional celebrations again this year because of the pandemic, organizers of WAMBO are working on a scaled-down event.
“With the impacts of the pandemic still lingering, WAMBO will look a bit different this year,” committee chair Bill Wolsing says. “There won’t be a refreshment tent, food vendors, or many other activities our community loves due to logistical reasons, but we’ll have a few staples for everyone to enjoy.”
The one-day event would take place on October 9th, the Saturday of the Thanksgiving weekend, and include the final Wallaceburg Farmers’ market of the season, a classic car show, and live entertainment.
“Boaters are welcome to come dock in the downtown core along the Sydenham River, understanding the time of year may make it difficult, but we encourage people to come by water and enjoy the day,” Wolsing adds. “We also encourage everyone to support our local restaurants and licensed establishments during the event.”
COVID protocols will be in place for all of the activities. More details are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
