A Chatham-Kent councillor wants to send a message to Ontario Premier Doug Ford to stop the lockdowns in Chatham-Kent.
West Kent councillor Mark Authier tabled a notice of motion at last night’s Chatham-Kent council meeting, requesting the municipality send a letter to Ford requesting no more lockdowns for the area.
In his notice of motion, Authier pointed out that the lockdowns have led to Chatham-Kent losing small businesses, as well as pointing out that Chatham-Kent has had low Covid-19 numbers.
The motion, which should make for some lively debate, is scheduled to be discussed at council’s April 26 council meeting, just over a week before the current stay-at-home order is set to expire.
