Coordinator Annie Lukacsovics says improving access to municipal drinking water is easy to do:
“We want to make water easily accessible to all children and families in Chatham-Kent. One way to do this is to make municipal water easily available in places where people gather, like a recreation centre.”
Up to $3000 is available for organizations to provide water jugs and reusable water bottles, or to install a water dispenser or water bottle filling station.
By installing these types of drinking water amenities, the public will have more access to municipal drinking water when they’re outside of the home.
Some types of organizations who can apply are:
Municipal or community agencies
Schools
Child Care Facilities
Sports Team
Sports Associations
If you’re an organization who would like to apply, visit the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit’s website. Deadline to apply is Friday, January 20, 2017.
