Wheatley Man Charged With Making Threats, Impaired Driving

Making threats and crashing a motorcycle are two good ways to get the attention of local police.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Little Street address in Wheatley shortly before 8 a.m. on Monday after an argument led a man threaten his ex-common-law partner.

The man attempted to leave on a motorcycle but fell off because he was intoxicated. At one point, the man also assaulted a police officer.

As a result, a 45-year-old Wheatley man has been charged with uttering threats, impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, and assaulting a police officer, along with several Highway Traffic Act offences.

He was released from custody once sober and will answer the charges in court later this month.
