A state of emergency in Wheatley is now officially over.
The order was issued back on June 2nd after a gas leak was detected at an Erie Street North.
Emergency crews remained at the scene 24 hours a day for the next two and a half weeks. Dozens of area residents were evacuated and several businesses shut down, but most were allowed to get back into their properties on June 19th and 20th.
Now, municipal officials have officially declared the state of emergency has been terminated.
