A Wheatley woman is in disbelief after winning $70,000 with a lottery scratch ticket, one year after winning $400,000.

Julia Reid, a fisheries industry worker, became a two-time lottery winner after checking her Instant Supreme 7 ticket while at the store. She said she couldn’t believe what she saw.

“This win feels like a huge blessing,” she told OLG. “How did this happen to me twice?”

Reid, who is a regular lottery player, also won a $400,000 prize in March 2021, after playing Instant Plinko.

“My daughter knew something was up and she asked, ‘Did you win again?'” she said. “She gave me a big hug.”

Reid currently has no plans for her recent winnings but said she will “put it aside for a rainy day.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Parkdale Store N’ Service on Seacliff Drive in Leamington.
