White Christmas A Possibility

snowy-roadDespite nearly 20cm of snow falling on Chatham-Kent this past weekend, it’s still to early to tell if we’ll be having a white Christmas.

Geoff Coulson with Environment Canada says we should have a better idea over the coming weekend.

“The only fly in the ointment in this point is that some of the models are indicating a little bit of some warmer temperatures in the day leading up to Christmas,” says Coulson. “So it may be a bit of a race, if we have sufficient snow pack even if we do have some warmer days it may not be enough to get rid of the snow.”

Another major weather system is moving into the area on Friday night with snow and rain expected.

For a by-the-book definition of White Christmas, there needs to be at least two cm.
