The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt electric car has been named the North American car of the year.
The announcement was made in Detroit this morning.
The Honda Ridgeline pickup and Chrysler Pacifica minivan were named 2017 Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year, respectively.
The SUV category is new this year, with the Windsor-built Pacifica beating out the Mazda CX-9 and Jaguar F-Pace.
The awards are handed out based on votes from 60 automotive journalists from across Canada and the U-S, based on excellence in innovation, design, performance and technology.
